Lead Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of cloud data platforms and business intelligence solutions to support decision-making for Universal Studios Hollywood
• Collaborate with product and business areas to identify requirements and provide technical options, risks, and cost-benefit analyses
• Develop, understand, and interpret logical and physical data models
• Establish scalable, efficient, and automated processes for large-scale data analysis, model development, and implementation
• Perform data wrangling of heterogeneous data sources to discover new insights
• Partner with application and data architects to ensure effective data schemas for operational applications
• Coordinate with business users during project implementations and serve as a primary point of contact for data inquiries
• Mentor team members and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders at all levels

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in a technical field
• 10+ years of experience in large IT teams or consulting organizations supporting complex data warehouse environments
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL in environments such as Snowflake, Teradata, or Oracle
• Hands-on experience in predictive modeling and analyzing large volumes of data
• Knowledge of cloud data and orchestration platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Airflow)
• Expertise in data modeling concepts, data integration, and master data management
• Experience with reporting and ad-hoc analysis tools such as Power BI or MicroStrategy
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the hospitality industry
• Proficiency with ETL tools, specifically Snowflake/Snowpark
• Experience with Data Cloud tools including Python, AWS/S3, and Airflow
• Familiarity with data modeling tools like Erwin or Embarcadero
• Experience with version control systems such as GitLab or GitHub
