About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end data solutions by translating business needs into technical requirements and designing scalable architectures.
- Lead the development of integrated business and enterprise application solutions, ensuring they meet architectural standards for reliability and security.
- Mentor and advise engineers across all software development lifecycle (SDLC) phases using Agile and Kanban methodologies.
- Establish best practices for source control and CI/CD to ensure efficient testing and deployment.
- Design and manage data lake solutions, focusing on data quality, governance, observability, and service level agreements.
- Continuously improve the efficiency of data pipelines and ETL processes across the organization.
- Partner with platform and architecture stakeholders to design solutions that meet complex business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, computer information systems (CIS), or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in data, business intelligence, platform engineering, or software engineering.
- 6 years of experience implementing solutions within the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- 4 years of expertise in object-oriented programming (OOP), SQL, and scripting.
- 4 years of experience with big data and Cloud big data technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in computer science, CIS, or a related field.
- 7+ years of data engineering experience with a focus on building and scaling data pipelines within GCP using Spark.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL for complex data manipulation.
- Deep expertise in Data Modelling (Star Schema, Snowflake, or Data Vault).
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for data workloads.
- Hands-on experience with Looker, PowerBI, or GenAI/LLM integration within data pipelines.
