Lead Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of large-scale data platforms, data lakes, and cloud solutions.
• Design and build complex ETL/ELT data pipelines for enterprise data integration.
• Establish enterprise-scale data integration procedures, frameworks, and ingestion patterns.
• Create performance-optimized DDLs and perform tuning of complex SQL queries and data pipelines.
• Manage developer deliverables, perform design reviews, and coordinate release management activities.
• Drive automation and identify process inefficiencies to optimize data flows.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and global technology teams to deliver business value in an agile environment.
• Provide technical support for production incidents and failures.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in designing and building Data Warehouses and Data Lakes.
• Expertise in Snowflake and AWS cloud-based data platforms.
• Proficiency in industry-leading ETL tools such as IBM DataStage, SSIS, or SAP BODS.
• Expert-level SQL skills, including stored procedures and data integrity resolution.
• Experience with Unix or Python scripting.
• Strong knowledge of data architecture, modeling (Relational, Dimensional, or Data Vault), and design patterns.
• Experience with Gitlab version control and CI/CD processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of DBT, AWS Glue, or Snowpark.
• Experience with scheduling tools such as Control-M.
• Experience working within the financial services industry.
