Lead Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead technical project initiatives from conception to delivery, managing timelines and cross-functional efforts
• Mentor and guide direct reports through code reviews and technical coaching
• Manage, maintain, and optimize self-hosted database solutions and hardware
• Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines
• Ensure infrastructure and pipelines comply with data privacy standards and GDPR
• Partner with data scientists and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable infrastructure

Requirements

• Extensive experience managing and optimizing PostgreSQL and MongoDB
• Proven experience with self-hosted/on-premise databases and data warehouses
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Linux/Unix environments
• Hands-on experience with orchestration tools like Dagster or Airflow
• In-depth knowledge of data warehousing and relational data modeling
• Demonstrated track record of technical leadership and mentorship
• Ability to communicate architectural decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
