Lead Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and development of data engineering solutions within the team
• Oversee code quality and promote engineering standards and best practices
• Mentor team members and support their technical professional development
• Collaborate closely with architects to ensure alignment with organizational data architecture
• Participate in backlog refinement by providing technical expertise and recommendations
• Identify and resolve technical blockers impacting project delivery
• Implement engineering practices including automation, testing, and CI/CD processes
• Balance rapid solution delivery with technical quality and long-term system maintainability

Requirements

• University degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
• 3-4 years of experience in designing and building Data Lake solutions
• Proficiency in SQL and Python
• Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataform, etc.)
• Practical knowledge of relational databases and data ingestion, processing, and analysis
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, specifically CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Ability to design scalable and reliable data solutions
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with both technical and business teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Airflow, Apache Beam, pySpark, Hive, or HDFS
