Lead Data Architect

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the data architecture strategy and roadmap in alignment with business objectives and Enterprise Architecture principles.
• Design and implement end-to-end data architectures (Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Mesh, Data Fabric) on Google Cloud Platform.
• Lead business initiatives by translating complex requirements into concrete data solutions and ensuring high adoption rates.
• Develop optimized data models (conceptual, logical, physical) to support advanced analytics, reporting, and AI applications.
• Establish and manage data governance frameworks, including data quality, lineage, metadata management, and security.
• Integrate Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning capabilities into data architectures, facilitating MLOps and feature stores.
• Ensure all data architectures comply with GDPR and "Privacy by Design" principles.
• Direct and mentor technical teams, fostering innovation and technical excellence within the data domain.

Requirements

• 10-15 years of significant experience in data architecture, including proven experience as a Lead Data Architect.
• Extensive expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its data services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI).
• Deep knowledge of BigQuery for modern Data Warehouse design and query optimization.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation, transformation, and automation.
• Strong expertise in data modeling techniques (dimensional, Data Vault, 3NF, etc.).
• Proven experience working within large-scale organizations, specifically in the banking or retail/operating lease sectors.
• Solid understanding of data governance, security, and GDPR compliance.
• Ability to work effectively in an international environment with professional fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with streaming architectures such as Apache Kafka or Google Cloud Pub/Sub.
• Familiarity with microservices and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) in a data context.
• Experience with semantic modeling and data catalog management.
