About the role

Responsibilities

  • Extract, process, and analyze data to produce rigorous, actionable insights and research.
  • Drive the documentation of data, analytics, and research needs for complex projects using a student and equity-centered lens.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering to develop complex ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
  • Build standard reports and advanced data visualizations that utilize storytelling to drive decision-making.
  • Identify and solve complex data issues to ensure accuracy, completeness, and validity across university data assets.
  • Translate user stories into technical requirements and manage stakeholder expectations through effective communication.
  • Contribute to the development of data management platforms, including data dictionaries and catalogs.
  • Mentor team members through constructive feedback and the sharing of technical and institutional knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • 7 years of related experience in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency, including complex queries, window functions, CTEs, and performance tuning.
  • High proficiency in Tableau and Power BI for data visualization and trend analysis.
  • Strong experience in data modeling (conceptual, logical, dimensional, star, and snowflake schemas).
  • Knowledge of descriptive statistics, causal analysis, and forecasting methods (time series, regression).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, specifically advanced Excel.
  • Experience working within Agile or Waterfall project management frameworks.
