Lead Custodian

Responsibilities

• Maintain building appearance and cleanliness in academic and residential areas, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, and lounges
• Perform core custodial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting fixtures
• Manage waste disposal and recycling programs
• Assist with campus event set-up and seasonal tasks like snow removal and entrance maintenance
• Provide guidance and organization to team members and direct student workers
• Handle building security tasks such as locking/unlocking facilities and managing lights

Requirements

• 1 year of direct experience in custodial work
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to read instructions and mix appropriate chemical dilutions safely
• Basic computer knowledge and operation skills
• Strong time management, organizational, and detail-oriented skills
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
