Lead Custodial Worker

Responsibilities

• Plan, review, assign, and monitor the work of assigned custodial staff
• Train new staff members on cleaning methods, chemical application, equipment use, and departmental policies
• Inspect buildings and facilities to ensure safety, cleanliness, and maintenance standards are met
• Maintain, receive, and distribute custodial materials, supplies, and equipment
• Perform general cleaning of classrooms, offices, laboratories, dining rooms, and common areas
• Clean and restock restroom facilities and related fixtures
• Maintain floors through sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, stripping, waxing, and buffing
• Dispose of trash, recyclables, and biohazards properly
• Report safety hazards and maintenance needs to appropriate channels
• Assist with snow removal from building entrances and walkways

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in industrial or commercial cleaning
• Ability to organize, lead, and review the work of custodial staff
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports
• Ability to maintain confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of experience in industrial or commercial cleaning
• Previous supervisory experience
