About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage hot food production using recipe cards and ensure correct portioning and temperatures
  • Oversee cold batch production including fruit cups, veggie packs, and salads
  • Conduct weekly inventory counts and manage ordering based on batch schedules
  • Enforce FEFO (First Expired, First Out) protocols across all storage
  • Lead and develop Kitchen & Service Assistants through shift briefings and debriefs
  • Maintain food safety logs, including temperature checks and waste logs
  • Communicate proactively with school administration regarding menu or service updates

Requirements

  • Current Food Handler certification (required)
  • Experience in high-volume kitchens such as school food service or catering
  • Strong knife skills and proficiency in both hot line and cold prep
  • High attention to detail regarding recipes, labeling, and food safety standards
  • Reliability and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • ServSafe certification

Benefits

  • $22/hr compensation
  • 30 hours per week (6hrs/day, 5 days/week, Monday-Friday)
