About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage hot food production using recipe cards and ensure correct portioning and temperatures
- Oversee cold batch production including fruit cups, veggie packs, and salads
- Conduct weekly inventory counts and manage ordering based on batch schedules
- Enforce FEFO (First Expired, First Out) standards across all storage
- Lead and develop Kitchen & Service Assistants through shift briefings and debriefs
- Maintain food safety logs, including temperature checks and waste logs
- Communicate proactively with school administration regarding menu or service updates
Requirements
- Current Food Handler certification
- Experience in high-volume kitchen environments (school food service, catering, etc.)
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in both hot line and cold prep
- High attention to detail regarding recipes and labeling
- Reliability and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- ServSafe certification
Benefits
- $21/hr wage
- 30 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
