Lead Contracts Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage pre-and post-contract administration, including insurances, bonds, claims, and variation notices
• Assist in drafting project main contracts, subcontracts, and purchase order terms
• Prepare and submit variation and claim notices to reserve contractual rights
• Coordinate documentation for LOA/LOI/Subcontract preparation with procurement and project teams
• Maintain registers for bonds, insurance, variations, cost claims, and EOT timelines
• Review subcontractor requests for variations and EOTs and provide contractual recommendations
• Endorse subcontractor payment certificates upon compliance with bond and insurance requirements
• Assist in developing procedures for contracts and change management
• Train new graduates and Emirati employees

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Engineering
• 8+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry
• 3+ years of experience within the UAE or Middle East
• Proven experience in pre and post contract management for EPC or construction companies
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional membership such as ACIArb
• Additional qualifications in construction contract law
