Lead Contracts Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage project main contracts, subcontracts, and purchase order terms.
• Oversee post-contract administration, including insurances, bonds, and guarantee submissions.
• Draft and submit variation and claim notices (including EOT) to reserve contractual rights.
• Coordinate with Proposals, Procurement, and Project execution teams for LOA/LOI/Subcontract preparation.
• Maintain comprehensive registers for bonds, insurance, variations, cost claims, and contract timelines.
• Review subcontractor requests for variations and EOTs to provide contractual recommendations.
• Endorse subcontractor payment certificates upon compliance with insurance and bond requirements.
• Assist in the development of contract procedures and change management processes.
• Provide training and mentorship to new graduates and Emirati employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the UAE or Middle East.
• Proven experience in both pre- and post-contract administration.
• Strong background in EPC, construction, or contracting environments.
• Thorough knowledge of FIDIC contract standards.
• Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional membership such as ACIArb.
• Additional qualifications in construction contract law.
