Lead Concept Artist

Responsibilities

• Lead the visual development of original TCG universes from earliest exploration through established franchise direction
• Create concept art that defines tone, atmosphere, visual language, and world cohesion
• Establish iconic characters, creatures, factions, environments, and visual motifs
• Uphold the artistic quality bar across the studio and influence visual direction
• Partner with Creative Directors, Game Designers, and Narrative teams to translate abstract ideas into visual direction
• Provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship to internal artists and external partners
• Drive rapid visual ideation and concept exploration

Requirements

• Exceptional portfolio demonstrating world-class concept art and visual storytelling
• Expertise in character, creature, environment, or costume design
• Deep understanding of composition, shape language, lighting, and color
• Ability to lead visual exploration from ambiguity into clear direction
• Strong mentorship instincts and communication skills
• Passion for fantasy, sci-fi, and trading card games

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in concept art or visual development within games, film, or animation
• Experience contributing to original IP creation or long-term franchise development
• Experience leading or mentoring artists in collaborative environments
• Experience working with external studios or outsourcing partners
• Understanding of collectible-driven art and fan engagement
