Lead Compounding Technician, Sterile

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of sterile compounding technicians and support staff in daily operations.
• Ensure compliance with USP 797, USP 800, and site SOPs.
• Serve as an assigned trainer and competency evaluator for new hires and existing staff regarding aseptic technique, garbing, and hand hygiene.
• Compound sterile medications and perform formulation and aseptic filling of solutions.
• Assist with equipment calibration and ensure proper use of all compounding tools.
• Perform cleanroom suite maintenance, including cleaning, sterilization, and supply preparation.
• Document all compounding and maintenance activities in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with Pharmacists and management regarding personnel, quality, and regulatory matters.

Requirements

• 2+ years of sterile compounding experience (or 1+ year sterile and 1+ year non-sterile experience).
• Current Arizona Certified Pharmacy Technician registration.
• National Certification (CPhT).
• Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) certification or willingness to obtain it within the first year.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of sterile compounding experience.
• Prior experience working at a sterile pharmaceutical manufacturer.
• 1+ year of experience in a leadership role.
• 1+ year of experience as a sterile or non-sterile trainer.
