Lead Composite Technician

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of composite technicians to ensure accountability and clarity of responsibilities
• Coordinate build activities and progress through daily leadership meetings
• Track team output against delivery objectives and manage capacity planning
• Drive improvement projects to decrease touch-time and improve quality
• Perform assembly of structures including setup, bonding, and fastener applications
• Laminate assemblies and prepare parts for bagging, including vacuum bag processing and autoclave curing
• Use precision tools like calipers, micrometers, and torque wrenches for dimension checking
• Fit honeycomb, foam, and syntactic core materials
• Integrate mechanical hardware and refurbish thermal protection systems

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in mechanical troubleshooting, assembly, or repair in a regulated environment
• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience leading a team in a production environment
• Familiarity with hand, power, pneumatic, and inspection tools
• Ability to stand and walk for 8+ hours and climb ladders
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Composite or lamination experience
• Experience in Core bond and Splicing
• Advanced Prepreg manufacturing knowledge
• Resin infusion knowledge
• Experience training and mentoring composite technicians
