About the role
Responsibilities
- Strategically partner with sales teams and cross-functional stakeholders to support high velocity deal cycles
- Draft, negotiate, and advise on complex outbound commercial agreements including SaaS, DPA, BAA, and AI terms
- Act as a trusted legal advisor to sales teams providing timely and practical guidance
- Enable and train sales teams on common commercial issues and best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new selling models, product introductions, and feature launches
- Create, refine, and maintain customer-facing legal terms
- Develop and scale commercial legal team best practices, playbooks, and standards
- Stay current on emerging global laws, regulatory shifts, and judicial decisions
Requirements
- J.D. degree from an accredited institution
- Active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar association
- 8+ years of legal practice experience
- Significant in-house experience at a technology company supporting sales organizations on outbound SaaS transactions
- Proven track record collaborating with Sales, Finance, Privacy, and Security teams
- Excellent legal and business judgment with the ability to translate complex nuances for non-legal stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating enterprise customer-facing SaaS terms
- Experience supporting new product introductions (NPIs)
- Experience advising on AI-related legal issues
