Lead Clinical Lab Scientist

Responsibilities

• Verify specimens and perform correct clinical tests
• Assist the team in day-to-day lab work following standard operating procedures
• Follow GLP (good laboratory practice) and report non-conformity
• Ensure production work is completed in a timely manner and all samples are accounted for
• Train new hires and assist in implementing new process changes
• Act as a lead on the lab floor in the absence of a supervisor
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and identify lab process issues
• Escalate team concerns, performance discrepancies, and lab issues to management
• Maintain HIPAA/PHI privacy and compliance standards

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a Medical Technologist or equivalent in a clinical laboratory
• BS/BA degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or a related field
• Current California CLS license or CGMBS license
• Experience in Molecular Biology
• Ability to discern color visually or evaluate cellular morphology

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced troubleshooting skills for laboratory instrumentation
• Experience with data management and word processing
