Lead Claims Assessor

Responsibilities

• Lead the assessment and sign-off on complex Death, Critical Illness, and Income Protection claims
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and training to junior assessors to support their professional development
• Manage queries from customers, employers, and brokers with professionalism and empathy
• Ensure all claim decisions adhere to Zurich’s risk, compliance, and quality standards
• Coordinate claim processing to ensure the timely payment of benefits
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive continuous process improvements
• Support the Head of Claims on strategic initiatives and special project work

Requirements

• Proven track record in Risk Claim Assessment, specifically with Life, Income Protection, or Critical Illness products
• Ability to meet and maintain CBI Minimum Competency Code requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong communication skills with experience engaging diverse stakeholders
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure

Preferred Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification or relevant professional qualifications (e.g., Actuarial, Legal, Medical, or Nursing)
• German language skills
