Lead Civil Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering scopes including geotechnical engineering, foundation designs, road layout, stormwater management, and drainage.
• Manage engineering implementation, including cost estimating, project scheduling, and permit integration.
• Perform advanced review and approval of civil engineering work and coordinate multidisciplinary reviews of project drawing submittals.
• Oversee quality aspects of engineering and construction to ensure compliance with design standards and documentation accuracy.
• Support the development of EPC contractor bid packages and evaluate bids during the procurement process.
• Develop and maintain company civil design standards.
• Advise the Development Engineering team on project planning and design in coordination with environmental, land, and transmission teams.
• Manage external professional consultants providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
• Mentor and develop other engineers to enhance technical skills.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant civil engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading complex renewable energy projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent education.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Primavera.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technical documentation, including permitting, local codes, and geotechnical reports.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate highly technical concepts to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
• Advanced degree in civil engineering.
• Knowledge of turbine specifications, solar module/inverter selection, and battery systems.
