Lead Catering Server

Responsibilities

• Lead on-call staff at catered events and oversee set-up, execution, breakdown, and clean-up
• Delegate specific duties to staff to ensure food service and room setup are on track
• Complete end-of-day reports and necessary paperwork for catering management
• Manage cashless/credit card payments and alcohol inventory, ensuring proper licensing and signage
• Communicate effectively with guests, wait staff, kitchen, and managers
• Maintain knowledge of menu items and communicate potential allergens to guests
• Care for and maintain catering/kitchen spaces and equipment

Requirements

• Ability to lift 10-20 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach for long periods
• Must obtain and maintain Vermont Department of Liquor Control (DLC) certification
• Must maintain Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance
• Must maintain a Middlebury College driver's license to operate vans or trucks
• Flexibility to work various shifts, seven days per week

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience as a Middlebury College DLC Certified On-Call Server
• 1-3 years experience in food and beverage service
