About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead BOH staff through event execution when Catering Chefs are not present
- Ensure food is properly and safely prepared, stored, and served following ServSafe guidelines
- Review production sheets and prepare food items according to recipes and volume requirements
- Communicate clearly with BOH and FOH personnel to ensure quality and quantity
- Manage the care and upkeep of catering spaces and kitchen equipment
- Operate campus vehicles including vans, gators, and box trucks
- Manage event flow and adjust to changes on short notice
Requirements
- 2-3 years of previous cooking, kitchen, and restaurant experience
- Proficiency in ServSafe guidelines
- Ability to lift 10-20 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Must acquire and maintain a Middlebury College Driver's License
- Willingness to learn the Catertrax platform
