Lead Building Technician

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance and repair activities for all building systems
• Ensure proper operation of equipment including boilers, chillers, pumps, and compressors
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans to optimize performance
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain accurate records
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized services
• Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment
• Identify opportunities for energy savings and efficiency improvements
• Respond to emergency situations to minimize facility disruption

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building maintenance with a focus on mechanical systems
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems
• Experience with industrial equipment such as boilers, chillers, pumps, and compressors
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
