Lead Building Engineer

Responsibilities

• Monitor operating conditions of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and emergency repairs
• Oversee service contractors and ensure compliance with building standards
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to resolve issues
• Conduct regular building inspections and address deficiencies
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules and record equipment readings
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, and NFPA regulations
• Maintain professional communication with vendors, tenants, and leadership

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED
• 5-7 years of industry-related experience
• At least 1 year of supervisory or mentoring experience
• In-depth knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC, and electrical controls
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, energy management software, and CMMS
• Familiarity with blueprints, code requirements, and fire/life safety equipment
• Ability to work after hours, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• CFC Certification
• Relevant engineering and trade licenses according to local or state requirements
