About the role
Responsibilities
- Ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for the assigned facility.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including inspecting belts, lubricating motors, replacing filters, and adjusting equipment.
- Supervise maintenance staff when applicable, assigning and monitoring daily activities and projects.
- Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors and technicians.
- Respond immediately to emergency situations such as equipment failure, fire, or evacuations.
- Maintain stock and inventory control for building supplies.
- Compile and submit monthly reports to the management team regarding building operations.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company safety directives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 5+ years of related trade experience operating MEP systems in a commercial property setting.
- Valid EPA Section 608 "Universal" certification for CFC and HFC based refrigerants.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Proficiency in basic computing skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, boilers, heaters, pumps, and refrigerant systems.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, stooping, and crouching.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate of an apprentice program or trade school.
- Relevant trade licenses such as Journeyman or Master Electrician, City Licenses, or Steam Engineers License.
- Experience with energy management systems and operations.
