Lead Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of next-generation mobile communication services, including SMS, MMS, and RCS.
• Translate business and product requirements into scalable backend architectures and core platform components.
• Architect and develop high-performance backend services and APIs to meet evolving platform requirements.
• Ensure high product quality through rigorous code reviews, testing strategies, and engineering best practices.
• Take end-to-end ownership of critical platform components, driving their scalability and reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement by debugging complex issues and implementing performance enhancements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building scalable, reliable backend systems.
• 3-5 years of experience in a hands-on technical leadership or architect role.
• Proficiency in server-side technologies such as Java, Python, or Ruby.
• Strong expertise in distributed systems design and microservices architecture.
• Experience with data infrastructure technologies including Kafka, Elasticsearch, or NoSQL databases (e.g., Aerospike).
• Working knowledge of AWS cloud services and container-based solutions.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with real-time streaming data pipelines that scale horizontally.
• Familiarity with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, ClickHouse, or Redshift.
• Experience with multi-tenant architectures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Demonstrated experience with AI tools and AI-based development practices.
• Experience implementing RCS (Rich Communication Services).
