Lead Azure Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build state-of-the-art data pipelines and models using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Explorer, and PySpark
• Develop ETL processes and data movement workflows using Azure Data Factory
• Work on large-scale lakehouse and warehouse analytics systems processing both real-time and batch data feeds
• Partner with business, design, and development teams to shape data capture methodologies and support data-driven development
• Design and implement high-quality, modern data architecture at scale using modern engineering practices
• Create technical business process documentation and maintain data quality tools

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience designing and implementing scalable ETL processes
• 7+ years of experience with Big Data Analytics including Data Lake, Spark, and Parquet formats
• 7+ years of experience building cloud-hosted data systems, with a strong preference for Azure
• Strong expertise in Azure architecture, design, and implementation
• Hands-on experience with Delta Lake and Azure Data Explorer/Kusto
• 7+ years of experience in SQL performance tuning and optimization
• 3+ years of experience with PowerBI, Data Modeling, and DAX
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines
• Relevant Azure data certifications
• Personal interest in gaming (specifically Age of Empires)
