About the role

Responsibilities

  • Coach, mentor and develop engineers to achieve new heights in their careers
  • Perform weekly, quarterly and yearly reviews with direct employees
  • Interview and hire candidates to fill new roles
  • Create team goals and metrics to drive continuous improvement projects
  • Lead/organize meetings to drive project completion
  • Contribute to design reviews as an expert in design for manufacture and design for test
  • Oversee introduction and implementation of new products and product revisions
  • Perform Value Stream Mapping, Method of Manufacture plans, and cell design
  • Define and implement factory layouts, equipment selection, and production commissioning
  • Lead problem containment and structured root cause and corrective action investigations
  • Lead continuous improvement processes using lean tools and 5S

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or Mechanical preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Personnel leadership experience
  • Strong working knowledge of EEE piece parts, PCB, PCBA, electromechanical assembly, tooling, test, and quality techniques
  • Extensive experience using electronic circuits and design principles to solve component issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced engineering degree
  • 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with environmental acceptance testing (vibration, shock, thermal, vacuum)
  • Understanding of instrumentation, interfaces, and sensors
  • Experience designing and supporting production lines
  • Experience transitioning products from design to production
  • Demonstrated experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, and Pareto analysis
