About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site coverage across multiple hospital locations within the Appalachia region
- Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring Health Information Management (HIM) staff
- Act as a liaison between facility staff and company leadership to maintain client relationships
- Oversee daily medical record operations, ensuring HIPAA compliance and accuracy
- Process medical record and Release of Information (ROI) requests
- Manage high-volume inbound and outbound calls from patients and providers
- Handle fax, mail, and scanning operations, including updating EMRs
- Create encrypted patient record media and maintain chain-of-custody documentation
- Monitor queues and shared drives to ensure timely processing of information
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prior experience in healthcare, medical office, HIM, or ROI
- Proficiency with EMR systems and general office equipment
- Ability to travel frequently between hospital sites in the Appalachia region
- Strong understanding of HIPAA and privacy regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience
- Experience with ROI and specific EMR systems
