About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead system-level software architectural decisions for automotive OEM customer projects, specifically focusing on Integrated Cockpit products from inception to production.
  • Propose optimal solution architectures by leveraging Harman’s portfolio or developing bespoke approaches based on customer requirements.
  • Define, document, and review software architecture, providing approval for designs submitted by domain and subsystem architects.
  • Evaluate architectural alternatives and present detailed analyses of pros, cons, and rationales to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assess overall system architecture from a software perspective to identify necessary improvements or changes.
  • Collaborate with requirements, development, testing, and program management teams to ensure successful project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in software development, including software design and development roles.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the automotive electronics industry focusing on embedded software.
  • Proficiency in embedded software development using C/C++ or Java.
  • Hands-on experience or knowledge of Android Systems and one or more of the following: RTOS, QNX, Linux, or AUTOSAR.
  • Strong understanding of UML/SysML and communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, or RTP.
  • Deep understanding of embedded systems and hardware at a system level.
  • Excellent technical documentation, reasoning, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of Integrated Cockpit domains such as Cluster, Media, Audio, HMI, Vehicle Network, or Navigation.
  • Experience with embedded security, hypervisors, or kernel development.
  • Proficiency in Android App development.
  • Knowledge of ASPICE and Automotive Functional Safety standards.
  • Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) or Model Based Software Development.
