Lead Application Architect

Responsibilities

• Establish, document, and maintain application architecture standards, patterns, and types
• Develop and maintain tools, processes, documentation, and templates for Application Architecture
• Develop secure multi-cloud application architectures using microservices, IaC, serverless, and containerization
• Perform business and solution architecture activities to model requirements
• Create architecture artifacts and brief governance boards
• Perform reviews and assessments of current and proposed application architectures
• Develop and maintain API standards, management, discovery, security, and governance
• Implement application lifecycle management aligned with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA)
• Maintain architectures consistent with FinOps procedures and automated cost monitoring

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
• 15+ years of experience in technical and management leadership for application architecture
• Expert experience in application architecture standards and reference architectures
• Demonstrated ability to design multi-cloud architectures (microservices, IaC, serverless, containerization)
• Strong background in API management (design, security, discovery, governance)
• Experience aligning lifecycle management with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA)
• Experience developing Concepts of Operations and briefing governance boards
• U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Solutions Architect (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Professional)
• Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
• DevOps Certification
• Experience with application FinOps cost optimization
• Familiarity with DevSecOps CI/CD and cloud-native best practices
• Experience with large-scale federal modernization or System of Systems (SoS) programs
