Lead - Apparel Material Development (Performance)

Responsibilities

• Execute the global performance materials strategy and advance textile technology
• Lead the creation and strategic sourcing of technical, high-performance apparel materials including knits and wovens
• Manage material development workstreams across multiple apparel product seasons
• Drive material-specific sustainability targets, compliance, and circularity
• Create and maintain material and trim specifications using PLM systems
• Manage the material lifecycle, including testing for high-intensity sports applications
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with T2 material suppliers and T1 factory teams
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Product Development, and Sustainability teams globally

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Technology, Apparel Science, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in performance apparel material or fabric development
• Proven track record in technical textiles, innovative synthetics, or sports apparel
• Extensive experience collaborating with Asia-based suppliers and factories
• Ability to travel extensively to T2 material mills and T1 garment factories
• Deep knowledge of performance fabric and garment construction methods like bonding and seam-sealing
• Experience managing cross-functional projects from concept to commercial production
