Lead Analytics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build trust in data by closing the gap between business logic and data availability
• Own the analytics platform end-to-end, from raw sources to business-facing reporting
• Diagnose and resolve data quality issues across the entire stack
• Model core entities including users, ownership structures, properties, and transactions
• Govern the metrics layer across Finance, Product, Growth, and Compliance
• Write clear, maintainable code and documentation for both humans and AI models
• Mentor and hire future analysts and analytics engineers as the team grows

Requirements

• Strong systems thinking and first-principles reasoning
• Engineering expertise across the stack, including ability to read application code
• Proficiency in SQL and Python
• Experience with dbt (incremental models, tests, lineage)
• Comfort with multiple databases and warehouses (e.g., Postgres, MySQL, BigQuery)
• Experience with semantic layers or metrics catalogs
• AI-native workflow using tools like Claude or Cursor
• Experience working solo or in near-solo data roles
• Track record of mentoring or supporting other engineers

Preferred Qualifications

• BigQuery experience
• Experience navigating complex transactional database schemas
