About the role

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate valuations and perform independent price verification (IPV) processes for derivatives, with a specific focus on Commodities
  • Review Bid Offer and Model Valuation Adjustments for derivative portfolios
  • Perform deep-dive analysis on IPV results and provide high-quality monthly commentary to traders
  • Meet deliverables while adhering to Fair Valuation policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with technology teams to streamline IPV processes
  • Partner with quants, traders, market risk, and product control to lead various IPV projects
  • Resolve moderately complex issues independently and mentor less experienced staff

Requirements

  • Bachelors or MBA in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business, or equivalent certification (CFA/FRM/CQF)
  • 12+ years of experience in valuations, analytics, or financial modeling
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets products, preferably Commodities derivatives
  • Applied understanding of derivatives valuation and the construction of interest rate curves
  • Experience in trading, valuing, or price validating capital market instruments
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and SQL
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Calypso, Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, or Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with market-available AI tools
  • Understanding of numerical solution methods such as binomial trees, Monte Carlo, and finite difference methods
  • Previous experience in Market Risk, Product Control, or Model Risk Management (including Model Governance/Validation)
