About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction and on-the-job training to assigned personnel
- Perform paint tasks and monitor quality of work in progress against production schedules
- Submit work to Quality Assurance for final inspection and airworthiness re-certification
- Maintain records and technical data required by the FAA
- Monitor departmental requirements and stores inventories to avoid shortages
- Apply or install logos, symbols, or designs according to blueprint specifications
- Mix, stir, and thin paint or other coatings using appropriate equipment
- Regulate ventilation and exhaust units to cure and dry coatings
- Remove grease, dirt, paint, and corrosion from aircraft surfaces
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, local, environmental, and OSHA/TOSHA regulations
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid Airframe license (FAR 65 Subpart D or Subpart E)
- 5-7 years of recent experience in an aeronautical environment as a Painter
- Advanced knowledge of paint processes and products including lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and diagrams
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate man-lift equipment
- Ability to wear a respirator and pass a Respiratory Fit Test
- Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts as required
