About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction and on-the-job training to assigned personnel
  • Perform paint tasks and monitor quality of work in progress against production schedules
  • Submit work to Quality Assurance for final inspection and airworthiness re-certification
  • Maintain records and technical data required by the FAA
  • Monitor departmental requirements and stores inventories to avoid shortages
  • Apply or install logos, symbols, or designs according to blueprint specifications
  • Mix, stir, and thin paint or other coatings using appropriate equipment
  • Regulate ventilation and exhaust units to cure and dry coatings
  • Remove grease, dirt, paint, and corrosion from aircraft surfaces
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, local, environmental, and OSHA/TOSHA regulations

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid Airframe license (FAR 65 Subpart D or Subpart E)
  • 5-7 years of recent experience in an aeronautical environment as a Painter
  • Advanced knowledge of paint processes and products including lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and diagrams
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate man-lift equipment
  • Ability to wear a respirator and pass a Respiratory Fit Test
  • Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts as required
