Lead Aircraft Inspector

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct personnel assigned to the inspection department
• Ascertain that all inspections are properly performed and work is completed before customer release
• Maintain files on work orders and inspection forms for efficient retrieval
• Manage periodic checks and calibration of inspection tools and precision test equipment
• Execute FAA 337 forms and maintenance releases for items released to service
• Perform preliminary, hidden damage, continuity, and final inspections
• Ensure proper tagging, identification, and disposal of rejected or unserviceable parts
• Oversee metallurgical tests and shelf-life control for materials

Requirements

• High School/GED required; A.S. degree in Aviation preferred
• Valid A&P License
• FAA Part 65 certification
• At least 8 years of experience in the area of responsibility
• 5+ years of experience as an aircraft A&P Mechanic
• Prior inspector experience with FAA-compliant quality systems
• Experience interpreting precision measurement instruments
• Ability to wear a respirator per OSHA regulations
