About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct personnel assigned to the inspection department
- Ascertain that all inspections are properly performed and work is completed before customer release
- Maintain files on work orders and inspection forms for efficient retrieval
- Manage periodic checks and calibration of inspection tools and precision test equipment
- Execute FAA 337 forms and maintenance releases for items released to service
- Perform preliminary, hidden damage, continuity, and final inspections
- Ensure proper tagging, identification, and disposal of rejected or unserviceable parts
- Oversee metallurgical tests and shelf-life control for materials
Requirements
- High School/GED required; A.S. degree in Aviation preferred
- Valid A&P License
- FAA Part 65 certification
- At least 8 years of experience in the area of responsibility
- 5+ years of experience as an aircraft A&P Mechanic
- Prior inspector experience with FAA-compliant quality systems
- Experience interpreting precision measurement instruments
- Ability to wear a respirator per OSHA regulations
