Lead AI Data Trainer & AI Model Optimization Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, training, evaluation, and optimization of AI models for document intelligence, entity extraction, and compliance automation.
• Define and evolve training pipelines, datasets, evaluation frameworks, and automated workflows to support scalable model development.
• Guide the optimization of Small Language Models (SLMs), FastText classifiers, and LLM-assisted workflows to meet business requirements.
• Establish domain intelligence frameworks and best practices that support regulated industries and compliance standards like GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2.
• Define model quality metrics and validation approaches to improve accuracy, explainability, and operational effectiveness.
• Analyze production behavior and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor team members and contribute to AI engineering standards and documentation.

Requirements

• Experience working with NLP, document intelligence, information retrieval, or machine learning systems.
• Proven experience developing, training, and optimizing machine learning models (classification, extraction, or LLM-based workflows).
• Strong Python development skills and experience with machine learning frameworks and data processing pipelines.
• Experience with model training, data annotation, dataset management, or MLOps practices.
• Deep understanding of modern AI technologies including transformer models, embedding models, SLMs, LLMs, RAG architectures, or prompt engineering.
• Experience with data quality, testing, validation, or model performance measurement frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) platforms.
• Knowledge of OCR, semantic search, or enterprise content management systems.
• Proficiency with cloud-based AI platforms such as Azure AI, AWS AI, or Google AI.
• Experience with explainable AI frameworks, model governance, or AI observability.
• Familiarity with vector databases and production AI operations.
