Lead Accountant

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage financial plans across assigned programs, including earned value analysis and customer reporting.
• Act as the primary financial point of contact, partnering with Program Management, Accounting, and functional teams.
• Prepare monthly forecasts covering Orders, Sales, Operating Income, Cash Flow, and Working Capital.
• Deliver clear variance analysis with actionable insights to identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Oversee Earned Value Management (EVM), including baseline planning, execution, and estimate-to-complete updates.
• Provide financial input for audits and assist Project Managers in managing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Strong experience in Earned Value Management (EVM), financial performance, and internal/customer reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience using Deltek Costpoint and Cobra.
• Australian citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic defense technology environment.
