Lead Academic & Professional Advisor

Responsibilities

• Provide academic, career, and post-graduation advising to an assigned cohort of undergraduate students through one-on-one and group sessions.
• Design, develop, and deliver workshops on topics including major/minor selection, program requirements, career development, and graduate school planning.
• Support the advising team with degree audits, student record maintenance, and the coordination of advising programming.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and alumni/employer relations to guide students toward successful academic and professional paths.
• Identify, track, and report metrics on career-related outcomes such as internships, placements, and student engagement.
• Provide leadership and expertise to advisors within the assigned team under the guidance of the Assistant Director.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3+ years of academic advising experience at the college level.
• Expertise in career counseling and professional development.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience with career assessment instruments and modeling.
• Proficiency in using university-wide shared career technology and advising software.
