Lawyer

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit visa applications and supporting documentation to the Department of Home Affairs and other regulatory authorities
• Draft legal submissions and correspondence, including GTEs, health waivers, character waivers, and responses to Requests for More Information
• Conduct legal and policy research to support matter strategy and risk mitigation
• Use internal systems to monitor deadlines, visa expiry dates, and compliance events
• Maintain accurate records and case files to ensure matters are audit-ready
• Collaborate with the Senior Legal Team to deliver timely and compliant outcomes in accordance with service level agreements

Requirements

• Admitted legal practitioner in Australia
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a migration or administrative law role
• Sound understanding of Australian immigration law and policy, specifically employer-sponsored visa pathways
• Excellent legal drafting and written communication skills
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and document control
• Experience with employer-sponsored visa subclasses (482, 186, 494) is preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Migration Manager or similar case management software
• Exposure to a professional services or corporate legal environment
