Law - Prison Education - Part-Time (Adjunct) Faculty

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning in Business, Constitutional, and Criminal Law
• Prepare and submit syllabi in accordance with department and divisional policies
• Employ appropriate teaching strategies and utilize instructional technology to meet diverse student needs
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters by established deadlines
• Maintain strict confidentiality of student information

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree
• Active Ohio State Bar license in good standing
• Demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology and multimedia-based instruction
• Ability to pass a Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC) background check
• Ability to teach face-to-face in a prison education setting
• Must reside in or be able to perform work within Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky

Preferred Qualifications

• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience
