Laundry Room Attendant

Responsibilities

• Collect, count, weigh, and log all personal laundry using tracking sheets or programs
• Assist housekeepers and guests with personal laundry bag drop-off and pick-up
• Ensure timely processing of personal laundry and PPE
• Maintain washers and dryers, including cleaning lint traps regularly
• Use designated machines for PPE items only and track cleaned items
• Maintain a clean and organized laundry room
• Follow all safety, WHMIS, and PPE procedures
• Support the broader housekeeping and janitorial team as required

Requirements

• Prior experience in commercial laundry, housekeeping, or camp operations is an asset
• Basic familiarity with industrial washers and dryers
• Ability to accurately track and record laundry volumes
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
• Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check
• Physical ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• WHMIS certification and safety training
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control principles
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to work respectfully with Indigenous and Inuit staff
