About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain interface and performance requirements for ground support equipment
  • Build, test, operate, and maintain ground support equipment and launch facilities
  • Develop and execute procedures for flight hardware checkouts, integration, and processing
  • Provide engineering oversight for integration activities and hands-on hardware support
  • Support launch operations including on-console support on launch days
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure launch complex readiness
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and team communication

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in launch vehicle processing or critical ground support equipment
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a similar field
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Siemens NX preferred)
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of mechanical design, kinematics, and fluid design
  • Knowledge of mechanism components like piston actuators, bearings, and hydraulic pumps
  • Ability to create and implement technical procedures
  • Willingness to relocate to Cape Canaveral, FL

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace or high-performance applications
  • Experience designing launch vehicle piping layouts and controls
  • Familiarity with AFSPCMAN 91-710 range requirements and DoD explosive siting
  • Experience working with 45th SW, 30th SW, NASA, or other government agencies
  • Master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
