About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain interface and performance requirements for ground fluid systems
  • Develop fluid system schematics and architectural designs
  • Perform analysis to size components for cryogenic propellant, high pressure pneumatics, and water systems
  • Specify, select, and manage procurement of components from vendors
  • Design components and routed systems using CAD models and drawings in Siemens NX
  • Support technicians with mechanical installation and integration
  • Develop and execute test plans for commissioning and activation of ground fluid systems
  • Conduct test and launch operations on console
  • Maintain and improve design and physical configuration throughout operations

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with high pressure systems in aerospace or similar high-performance industries
  • Knowledge of mechanical design, thermodynamics, and fluids engineering
  • Knowledge of ASME B31.3 Process Piping
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Siemens NX preferred)
  • Proficiency in developing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
  • Knowledge of fluid components like valves, regulators, and instrumentation
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a similar field
  • Willingness to relocate to Cape Canaveral, FL

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience engineering and operating cryogenic fluids systems
  • Familiarity with AFSPCMAN 91-710 range requirements and DoD explosive siting
  • Experience working with 45th SW, 30th SW, NASA, or other government agencies
  • Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license
