Lathe CNC Machinist III/Senior

Responsibilities

• Maintain, set up, and operate CNC lathe and mill machines to build flight-ready hardware
• Read and translate drawings and CAD models
• Provide feedback to improve work instructions
• Collaborate with CNC programmers to maintain tolerances
• Work to reduce non-conformances found by quality or engineering
• Provide improvement ideas on batch sizes, setups, and tool selection
• Track calibration and maintenance of all equipment and tooling in the area

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with CNC operation on lathes with live tooling and y-axis (for Machinist III)
• 8+ years of experience with CNC operation on lathes with live tooling and y-axis (for Senior level)
• Demonstrated ability using Dual Spindle Lathes with Live Tooling
• Proficiency using precision measuring tools including bore gages, micrometers, and calipers
• Ability to interpret drawings and GD&T
• Willingness to work B Shift (Monday – Thursday 3:15pm - 1:45am)
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hours) on a production floor
• Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 25 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• CNC programming experience with NX Programming
• Experience in an Aerospace Manufacturing Environment
• 5-axis CNC operation and setup
• Knowledge of CELOS software on DMG machines
• Experience using Siemens, Fanuc, and Celos Controls
• Experience using bar feeders
• Manual Programming skills
