About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform laser modeling design and simulation for high energy, high-average power laser systems
- Assess different architectural options in partnership with industry and national laboratories
- Oversee a team driving the design, installation, commissioning and optimization of laser systems and test facilities
- Interface with engineering and optical testing teams to ensure timely delivery of complex systems
Requirements
- PhD plus 5-years’ experience in laser physics or a relevant field
- Experience with laser system design using simulation codes such as Miro or Rsoft
- Knowledge of laser energetics models and Frantz-Nodvik
- Experience with analysis of non-linear optical systems (SNLO or equivalent)
- Experience modeling and operating diode-pumped solid-state laser systems and components
