Laser/Optics/Mechanical Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, and document complex tests on optical, electronic, and laser systems
• Design, fabricate, and analyze test systems, components, and methodologies
• Coordinate test requirements and determine appropriate test methods and capabilities
• Guide system integration, fabrication, modification, setup, and teardown
• Identify and resolve test anomalies and troubleshoot complex laboratory problems
• Coordinate laboratory activities, maintenance, repairs, and personnel training
• Assist engineers with optical alignment and serve as a crew member for specialized tests

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in engineering technician, construction, or facilities maintenance disciplines
• 6+ years of experience working with powered hand tools or equipment
• Ability to work variable shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends
• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)

Preferred Qualifications

• 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
• Experience operating complex computer-based analysis or control systems
• Experience with high power lasers and optical alignment techniques
• Experience with electronics, electrical, or mechanical systems
