Laser Engineer

Responsibilities

• Review and develop customer design specifications to ensure alignment with functional and performance requirements
• Collaborate with customers on material selection and provide design consultation
• Analyze and test materials for application suitability and performance characteristics
• Operate and troubleshoot CO₂ laser systems, supporting optimization and maintenance efforts
• Assist with programming and coding tasks using G-Code, Python, or C++ to streamline automation
• Evaluate equipment and software performance and recommend technological enhancements
• Conduct visual and technical quality inspections, including AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAIs)
• Manage FAI reports using Net-Inspect or similar platforms to ensure accurate quality documentation
• Track KPI metrics and support compliance with ISO 9001 / AS9100 standards

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
• Proficiency with CAD software and design tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
• Basic understanding of CO₂ laser systems and mechanical components
• Exposure to programming languages including G-Code, Python, or C++
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality assurance practices
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and professional communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or coursework in prototyping, materials testing, or technical inspections
