Language Services Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end translation, transcreation, and localization requests across multiple formats and languages
• Manage assignments through translation management systems like Trados and Smartling
• Coordinate virtual and in-person spoken interpretation, including ASL and CART services
• Support over-the-phone (OPI) and video remote interpretation (VRI) services
• Maintain linguistic resources including translation memories, glossaries, and style guides
• Assist with vendor management, invoice reconciliation, and budget tracking
• Support compliance with language access mandates such as Local Law 30 and the Voting Rights Act

Requirements

• Native fluency in at least one of the following: Arabic, Bangla, Chinese, French, Haitian Creole, Korean, Russian, Spanish, or Urdu
• Knowledge of translation, localization, and transcreation processes
• Proficiency with translation management systems (e.g., Trados, MemoQ, Smartling)
• Experience with project management tools like Monday.com or Asana
• Strong organizational and vendor coordination skills
• Bachelor's degree plus one year of relevant experience, or high school diploma plus five years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience coordinating or managing language services
• Experience providing language services in the public sector
• Experience working with immigrant communities in New York City
