Language Arts Curriculum Designer

Responsibilities

• Write and review clear, engaging assessment items for grades K-5 to address specific educational objectives
• Collaborate with writers, editors, illustrators, and psychometricians to ensure content is accurate and age-appropriate
• Write achievement level descriptors and other essential assessment documentation
• Develop and manage project plans to deliver high-quality assessment items on schedule
• Research and analyze content requirements, including state educational standards
• Assist with ELA curriculum design projects, such as creating standards alignments and reviewing learning activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field with a focus on literacy
• 2+ years of experience writing foundational reading items for statewide or national assessments
• Experience teaching beginning or struggling readers using a structured literacy approach
• Outstanding written and spoken communication skills
• Ability to think strategically and solve problems creatively
• Strong attention to detail and a can-do attitude

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in curriculum development and instructional design
• Familiarity with HTML, Jira, or version control software
